Hello there! Almost ready for Easter? I see some have finished their Girls Own Stitching club Easter sampler...Well Done you! Today, I'm going to show you how to make some pretty containers for Easter. Now in mine, I have coloured pencils- something different to giving chocolates. But, you could put anything in them really...even mini chocolate eggs. They make such pretty containers.
Ok, here's what you'll need:-
- Some pretty paper
- plastic animal figurines (I found mine in the local $2 shop!)
- paint
- craft glue and a glue gun
- cardboard containers/tubes (I got mine from here...but you could recycle mailing tubes, cardboard tubes etc)
- Scissors
1. Choose your figurines and paint them. Leave to dry.
2. Paint the top of your tube, leaving to dry.
3. Take your paper and measure the length of paper needed to fit all the way around the bottom half of your tube. Cut out.
4. Cover the bottom half of your tube with a thin layer of glue. Carefully, wrap the paper around the bottom half of your tube. Leave to dry.
5. Repeat with the top half of your tube.
6. When glue has dried, use your hot glue gun to secure the Easter figurine on top.
7. Finished! Fill with whatever treats you like... :-)
Pretty easy hey?
The top half and bottom half doesn't even need to be the same paper.
If using coloured pencils as a gift, you could even wrap some co-ordinating paper around the pencils.
They would make a pretty gift.
Such a pretty gift. You come up with fabulous ideas.
