I want...no, I NEED a set of these gorgeous handmade cross-stitch Christmas decorations. Aren't they just divine? I stumbled across these at a friend's house and just instantly fell in love with them.
Each decoration has been cross-stitched, then stiffened. Each individual piece was then carefully and very closely cut around and then glued onto backing fabric. Once dry, each little arm and leg was stitched into position with a single stitch to hold it in place. Amazing! Each divine decoration has little moveable arms and legs, heads and the grandfather clock even has a moving pendulum.
I thought I just had to share them with you over the weekend to give you some inspiration.
So if you can cross-stitch...I definitely would like a set of these for Christmas please!
I wonder if my friend would notice if I didn't return them?? ;-)

Gosh Bronwyn, I remember cross stitching a set of these many, many years ago on plastic canvas used for cross stitch, then having to cut them out ever so carefully. I do remember thinking I wouldn't be hurrying to make another set-lol!
They are effective though and they do look gorgeous. (I wonder where our set are in fact.....mmmmmm)

Wow, they are special indeed. Were they stitched using perforated paper?

Love those ornaments. They must have taken a long time to make. But so worth it.

You and your friend would probably love these too, they are a uk company. I don't have the patience for cross-stitch, but if I did, I think I would have to buy most of the store ha ha! http://www.3dcrossstitch.co.uk

My daughter made the little bobby which is together with the goose in the bottom left of the first photo. I hung it on the tree yesterday and noticed that it was made in 1997! So they have been around a long time.

BTW The 3-D cross stitch is awesome! BUT it is very tiny. I bought 2 while in the UK a couple of years ago. I started one and found I was going cross eyed it was so small. So be warned.

Yes, I think you would go a bit cross eyed stitching these Darla!
I'm told that they were a kit, bought nearly 20 years ago. And yes, they have been stitched onto perforated paper and then a backing has been put onto each piece. Very patient lady.
